Sassy Trackies

Hey Everyone!

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for my lack of posts recently... I seem to have gotten extremely busy what with A levels (sigh) and what not. However, it's now half term and I finally have time to write a post for you (or maybe I'm just procrastinating from the revision which I really SHOULD be doing... but... hey ho). Anyway, BACK TO THE POINT; through the past spring-time months, I've been out and about for friends' birthdays, celebrating the last days of school life (feel like such an oldie) and just generally having a good time to try and free myself from the pressure of A levels. This has led me to buy numerous new clothing items to wear on a night out... and I feel one of my favourite items has to be my Topshop 'sassy trackies'...

Necklace - New Look
Top - H&M
'Sassy Trackies' - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Watch - Debenhams

Although I say so myself, I do love this outfit... I feel it's the perfect blend of pastels, with these pretty pink beaded heeled shoes teamed with a floral pink jewel necklace, cream lacey cropped top and baby blue clutch. What makes this outfit however, is the 'sassy trackies'.

I'd really wanted to find a pair of 'nice and dressy' trousers to wear out on the toon, and as soon as I saw these bad boys, I knew they hit the nail on the head. I was quite surprised that I was drawn to these 'formal joggers' as I absolute despise trackies (sorry...) and I did have my doubts, as I thought they could possibly look abit cheap hence the 'formal jogger' label (sorry Topshop but the name didn't sell it for me). However, the silk and pastelly lilac/pink (very ambiguous) colour allured me to try them on. I was so pleased with the ankle-grazer look and mid-waist fit and found them very flattering... thus I had to buy them.

I've not regretted my purchase since, and haven't just stuck to the pastel scheme either; I've also mixed and matched them with the colour black to provide a more sophisticated look (as you can see in the photo below with my beautiful sister). Cute little heels, in particular, seem to compliment these trousers, as apposed to huge bulky ones which I feel could easily take away the floaty elegance.

But yeah, I guess if you're looking for a pair of 'nice and dressy' trousers to go out in, with the comfort of 'trackies' or 'joggers', I would highly recommend these beauties from Topshop. Trackies most definitely can be sassy!

I hope you're all doing well!

Speak soon,

Alex

Aus Adventure: Welcome to Travel

Hello Everyone, I hope you’re all safe and well during these very strange times. I am currently living at Spot X Surf Camp on the East Coast of Australia during the COVID 19 pandemic. It’s a weird feeling being at the other side of the world during all of this madness, but I figured I would use this time to reflect on my Australian journey. I’m sure there are so many people so eager to travel when all of this is over, so I thought I’d return to my blog and write up a cheeky post reflecting on my first couple of weeks in Melbourne pre-lockdown. I always knew I wanted to work and travel in Australia, but I just had no idea where to even start with organising it, especially seeing as I knew I was travelling on my own (scary times). I remember googling ‘tours around Australia’ and it just felt like there were so many different things that popped up that all seemed to say the same thing, leading me to feel more lost with it all. I’ve done lots of travelling before, but I alwa...

Summer Ballin'

Hey Everyone! So it's the start of July... which means it's finally the start of SUMMER!!! What better way to get the party started than with an end of Sixth Form Summer Ball eh? Yes, you guessed it, in this post I'm going to share with you what I wore to my leavers' ball... Arguably to many girls, finding the perfect prom dress is like trying to find a four-leaf clover; many girls try so hard to find it, but some end up giving up and going for that dress that 'will do' (or in this case, the clover with three leaves with one split in half to make it look like four...). Other girls however are lucky, and find it straight away. My ball dress, I feel, was my four-leaf clover. I was scrolling through the ASOS website not expecting to find anything I liked, but as soon as I saw this dress, I knew it was the one. Because my ball was at the beginning of July in the Museum Gardens in the centre of York, I wanted something that was pretty, y...

The things that change when you go to Newcastle University

Hello Everyone, As a Uni student who overthinks a LOT, there have definitely been moments where I've reflected on my time AT University, but also the time BEFORE. After a mental two years, I thought I'd write a little post for you, all about the things that I feel change when you go to Uni. The first is... fashion When you go to University, your fashion gets lazier, and you find yourself walking sluggishly to your lectures in the comfiest leggings you can find, the biggest and most baggy jumper you can get hold of, your gazelles, and no makeup. I am fully guilty of this. For some reason though, on a night out in Newcastle, it seems acceptable to go out in pretty much exactly the same thing, but with more makeup, your Calvin Klein's underneath and the addition of a cap (even though it's night time). Again, I am guilty of this, as shown below. At the end of second year, I noticed that pretty much every other person walking round Jesmond was wearing either a bom...
