Topshop Mom Jean Love

Hey everyone!

So on this fine summer's day, I thought I'd share with you my love for my Topshop Mom jeans. I was very skeptical of Mom jeans at first, but after seeing this beautiful floral pair I just had to have them. I bought them a couple of months ago with the intention of wearing them on sunny days when it's just a little too cold for shorts, but a little too hot for thicker skinny jeans. I figured these were perfect summer jeans, hence the ankle grazer style and the not-so-fitted Mom-jean-style leg. The rips at the knees add a bit more edge to the pretty floral pattern whilst keeping my knees nice and cool! Yet I feel the more fitted high-waste of these jeans around my hips makes these jeans a lot more flattering!

I love to wear these jeans with cropped tops (I am absolutely loving the high-neck crop tops they are selling in Miss Selfridge at the moment!), sandals, converse, and adding a pair of funky sunglasses and a cute little belt to finish the look.

Mom Jeans - Topshop £42
90s Square Top - Miss Selfridge £8
Sandals - Urban Outfitters £30
Sunglasses - TK Maxx £12

I hope you guys are enjoying the sun!

Alex

Aus Adventure: Welcome to Travel

Hello Everyone, I hope you’re all safe and well during these very strange times. I am currently living at Spot X Surf Camp on the East Coast of Australia during the COVID 19 pandemic. It’s a weird feeling being at the other side of the world during all of this madness, but I figured I would use this time to reflect on my Australian journey. I’m sure there are so many people so eager to travel when all of this is over, so I thought I’d return to my blog and write up a cheeky post reflecting on my first couple of weeks in Melbourne pre-lockdown. I always knew I wanted to work and travel in Australia, but I just had no idea where to even start with organising it, especially seeing as I knew I was travelling on my own (scary times). I remember googling ‘tours around Australia’ and it just felt like there were so many different things that popped up that all seemed to say the same thing, leading me to feel more lost with it all. I’ve done lots of travelling before, but I alwa...

Summer Ballin'

Hey Everyone! So it's the start of July... which means it's finally the start of SUMMER!!! What better way to get the party started than with an end of Sixth Form Summer Ball eh? Yes, you guessed it, in this post I'm going to share with you what I wore to my leavers' ball... Arguably to many girls, finding the perfect prom dress is like trying to find a four-leaf clover; many girls try so hard to find it, but some end up giving up and going for that dress that 'will do' (or in this case, the clover with three leaves with one split in half to make it look like four...). Other girls however are lucky, and find it straight away. My ball dress, I feel, was my four-leaf clover. I was scrolling through the ASOS website not expecting to find anything I liked, but as soon as I saw this dress, I knew it was the one. Because my ball was at the beginning of July in the Museum Gardens in the centre of York, I wanted something that was pretty, y...

The things that change when you go to Newcastle University

Hello Everyone, As a Uni student who overthinks a LOT, there have definitely been moments where I've reflected on my time AT University, but also the time BEFORE. After a mental two years, I thought I'd write a little post for you, all about the things that I feel change when you go to Uni. The first is... fashion When you go to University, your fashion gets lazier, and you find yourself walking sluggishly to your lectures in the comfiest leggings you can find, the biggest and most baggy jumper you can get hold of, your gazelles, and no makeup. I am fully guilty of this. For some reason though, on a night out in Newcastle, it seems acceptable to go out in pretty much exactly the same thing, but with more makeup, your Calvin Klein's underneath and the addition of a cap (even though it's night time). Again, I am guilty of this, as shown below. At the end of second year, I noticed that pretty much every other person walking round Jesmond was wearing either a bom...
