Topshop Mom Jean Love

Hey everyone! So on this fine summer's day, I thought I'd share with you my love for my Topshop Mom jeans. I was very skeptical of Mom jeans at first, but after seeing this beautiful floral pair I just had to have them. I bought them a couple of months ago with the intention of wearing them on sunny days when it's just a little too cold for shorts, but a little too hot for thicker skinny jeans. I figured these were perfect summer jeans, hence the ankle grazer style and the not-so-fitted Mom-jean-style leg. The rips at the knees add a bit more edge to the pretty floral pattern whilst keeping my knees nice and cool! Yet I feel the more fitted high-waste of these jeans around my hips makes these jeans a lot more flattering! I love to wear these jeans with cropped tops (I am absolutely loving the high-neck crop tops they are selling in Miss Selfridge at the moment!), sandals, converse, and adding a pair of funky sunglasses and a cute little belt to finish the look. Is technology too much?

As technology continues to take over our world, I'm beginning to think; is it all really worth it? I don't feel technology is built for people like me. I came to this realisation the other week, when I had a slight accident with my iPhone 5s - by accident, I mean phone sliding out of my pocket and into the loo accident. As soon as I heard that sickening 'clunk' and 'splash' into the depths of the toilet, I knew it could only be one thing - my beautiful golden iPhone 5s. I wasn't insured. I tried leaving it in rice. I tried getting it fixed. It was no use. I was so disappointed - not because I'd lost all of my contacts, but because in my eyes, it's the best phone you can get, and I'd only had it 8 months! The only way of getting my precious iPhone back was to pay another £630 for a new one... But then I thought 'At the end of the day, it's just a phone.' - people managed to survive in the sixties without mobiles, and the sixties lo...

The 'perks' of being ginger...

The season of Summer has approached, and I really have come to experience the many 'perks' of being ginger. Firstly, the freckles. I was rather satisfied with the amount of freckles I had in the Autumn/Winter seasons; just a few scattered around my nose that were not too prominent or overbearing. Then Spring arrived. I noticed a few more 'spring' to my forehead, but I could deal with this; nothing too drastic... Now Summer has hit me and BOOM. The little devils are everywhere. I feel like my whole face has turned into an army of freckles. They all just need to join together now so my face is all one colour. You never know, it may turn into a 'yes I'm tanned' sort of look... but I doubt that. ;) Yeah it's all good saying you can cover it up with foundation, but finding a perfect match for pale skin is impossible!! This brings me on to fake tanning - something gingers can NEVER do. Let's face it, it just looks stupid. Fair enough using some gradual...

Exam Stress

Hey everyone! So it's that time of year where we're all stressing about exams, and I'll tell you now that A levels may possibly be the death of me. From doing my GCSE's last year, I swear my motivation to do anything has gone down hill. I'll try to revise for half an hour and before I know it, I'll be watching a video on YouTube, or I'll want to watch something on TV, or I'll suddenly have the urge to eat. It's shocking! Even now, when I should be revising, I'm writing a blog post! Please don't say I'm the only one who does this... Anyway, I guess the point I'm trying to make is that we shouldn't stress about exams, because they are not the be all and end all. A grade on a piece of paper does not show how great a person you are. I think it's so sad that our generation are left to feel that if they don't get good grades then they are going to fail in life. Yeah, grades can open doors and get you into university, but...

Pretty, Pastel & Patent

I think I've found my spring-time staple. I have fallen in love with these adorable vintage-style shoes from Office. The buckle fastening and punch-hole detail are just so cute, whilst the pale pastel pink colour is perfect for the season leading up to summer. Despite initially seeing these shoes and thinking, 'oh my gosh they are adorable... but they are gonna kill my feet', they were just too lovely to leave and have been surprisingly comfortable. I love to wear them with pretty frilly socks (Topshop's are my favourite!), and ankle grazer jeans for 6th form, however I'm also planning to dress them up with either a cute dress or pencil skirt to wear out. Although these shoes are quite pricey, they are so versatile and beautiful and worth every penny! I have also recently bought some beautiful mint green sandals from Topshop for summer. As soon as I saw them I just had to have them. I like how they're sandals, but they still cover my toes (I don't like t...

Frozen!

So I think I've found a new Disney favourite. You can never EVER be too old for Disney, and it never fails to make me 'aw' and smile at the screen like a soppy idiot! The new film Frozen is absolutely spectacular. My friend, Flo, had been nagging me to see it for the past month and after watching it with my Mum last week it has left me humming and singing 'Let it go!' ever since! I loved the story line and thought it reminded me of me and my sister. I'd say it's just as amazing as/if not better than Tangled, so if you love that then you're gonna love this! Without giving anything away, it's a lighthearted film suitable for everyone which you'd be a fool to miss! Speak soon, Alex x P.S. You know it's a good Disney film when your eyes start to water... I even bought the songs...

Creamy Candy Craze

Hey everyone! I always thought it was pointless wasting money on smelly stuff which literally ended up down the plug hole, however these last few months have made me realise how completely wrong I was. Since starting sixth form, I've started purchasing the odd Lush product (which I never thought I'd end up doing), and I have found something which is absolutely amazing - the 'Creamy Candy' bubble bar. Not only is the cute flower and pastel pink design just adorable, but the smell is just so... it's just one of those delicious scents (hence the vanilla extracts), where you could almost eat it as it just smells so good. It's so sweet and girly, yet subtle, relaxing and not overpowering. It was by far the most delicate and lovely scent of all the bubble bars in the shop! After receiving the Penguin bubble bar from Lush for Christmas, I'd decided that bubble bars are a wiser option to go for rather than bath bombs, especially when you're prone to dry s...
