Southwold Summer Outfits!

Hey everyone!

So last week I stayed in a lovely small little town called Southwold in the county of Suffolk. My friend's family always rent out a different house whenever they go, and I had the honor of staying with them for 5 days! Because the weather was so lovely and sunny (yes, I got sun burnt...) I thought I'd share with you my 5 summer outfits!

Outfit Number 1 - Travel

Jumpsuit - Misselfridge £34

I never imagined myself in a jumpsuit, however after seeing this beautiful number in the sale in Misselfridge a few weeks ago, I couldn't resist. I thought it would be perfect for summer due to the loose fit around the leg keeping me nice and cool. The denim is very soft and light making it very comfy, hence why I wore it on the first and last day when I spent 3 hours on the train. I feel the V neckline teamed with the ankle grazer style and pretty pattern makes the jumpsuit very casual, although with a pair of wedges it could easily be dressed up!

I wore this jumpsuit with an old tan plaited belt which came free with a pair of old shorts (I can't even remember how long ago or where from!), some tan leather Newlook pumps and a very cute mini tan rucksack.

Due to only taking a tiny suitcase, I was pretty limited with what I could pack, so I decided to just take one bag to carry around during the day with me, this being this adorable embroidered rucksack. After spending months looking for the perfect one, I found this beauty in a new vintage shop in York called 'Dog & Bone Vintage' for just £12. I love it so much!

Outfit Number 2 - Fun

Dungarees - Topshop £36
Sunglasses - Monki £8
Exclusive Maxi Low Juju Jellies - Office £20

I loved this retro/cute combo pairing my Juju jellies and floral dungarees with my funky green sunglasses and french plaits. The dungarees are the perfect length and can be worn with anything underneath. I bought them as I knew I could easily where them with tights and a long-sleeved top in winter too - they were in the sale as well which is always a bonus! In this outfit, I wore them with an old cropped button-up white tie top from Newlook that I bought a few years ago. I also love the pop of green in the outfit with my Monki sunglasses I bought in London a couple of months ago. The clashing colours paired with the ditsy pattern of the dungarees makes this an overall fun outfit for summer!

Outfit Number 3 - Beach

Kimono - Quiz £16.99
Shorts - Missselfridge £32
High-wasted Bikini - Topshop £10

I absolutely loved wearing this outfit on the beach! This kimono is a beautiful mix of vibrant bold flowers and pretty pastels. The chiffon gives it a very sheer appearance making it perfect to wear over a bikini, and it made me feel quite angelic as it blew in the breeze (haha). Speaking of bikinis, this one was extremely bargainous at just £10! It's the high-wasted balconette style from Topshop and I love it as it's so flattering. The shorts are a great length and have a slight flare around the thighs. Although I paired them with my bikini, I think the casual more over-sized appearance of them would be perfect for a festival!

Outfit Number 4 - Evening Stroll
MOTO Fitted Denim Jacket - Topshop £45
MOTO Tile Print Leigh Jeans - Topshop £40

These super soft leigh jeans paired with my denim jacket were a great match for an evening stroll down by the pier. I love the pattern of the jeans as it's busy and pretty yet not too overbearing. I wore this outfit with this cute white top that I bought from Topshop a few months back. I'm fairly tall but I bought the petites version of the top as I preferred the more cropped look.

Outfit Number 5 - Day Walk

Collared Blouse - Topshop £25
Gingham Shorts - Topshop £30

This one has to be my favourite outfit, it's just so casual and cute! The floral print collar and matching buttons is just adorable! The blouse was from the vintage section in Topshop down Oxford Street when I went to London a couple of months ago, so I like how it's unique. It's such a soft fabric! I absolutely love these gingham shorts though. They are so loose fitting and not too short and the fact the material isn't too thick makes them lovely and cool for summer. They're in the sale now though at just £18! With my coordinating tan rucksack, belt and shoes, I was ready to face a long summer day walk!

So they were my 5 Southwold summer outfits!

I hope you like them as much as I do :)

How to cure that HANGOVER

Hello Everyone! So we've all said 'oh I'm not gonna get that drunk tonight'... then a bottle of wine, 2 trebs and a whole array of bev you can't remember you've drank later, you're on the floor puking your guts out in the smoking area of the club, with your best mate laughing and taking videos of you. Yeah we've all been there, and it only ends up one way; with a throbbing headache the next day, regretting your life decisions, and a corker of a hangover that feels like the END. Do not panic! In this post, I'm gonna share with you my five ways to get you feeling your usual perky self again! Step 1: Have a drink There's nothing better than a cold pint of water when you wake up dehydrated after a night of drinking. When I'm hungover, Lucozade always seems to sort me out (forget the bottles, the cans are wayyy better!). A cup of tea is never a bad shout either hehe. Step 2: Go to the loo for a number 2 Think this goes without saying.

Choker Love

Hey Everyone! After settling back at sixth form, I came to notice the 'choker' craze going on. I suddenly saw so many girls wearing the same elasticated black choker around their necks. Despite the choker looking great on these girls, I wasn't particularly drawn to this 'edgy' look for me, therefore I was determined to find the perfect 'girly' choker. So I was having a casual browse around the jewellery stands in Topshop and such a pretty pearly cream flower choker with red/orange gem detail caught my eye... Initially, I thought they may clash with my hair, however I couldn't resist! It has definitely been my September stable and I will certainly be keeping an eye out for more. Cream Flower and Filigree Choker - Topshop £12.50 I love it! Speak soon, Alex x

The Important Lessons I've Learnt Through Learning to Drive

Hey Everyone! Before I begin this post, I would advise you to read my previous 'Learning to Drive: A Demoralizing Burden?' post to get an idea of how much of a 'demoralizing burden' that I thought driving really was. HOWEVER... After what has seemed like a very long roller coaster of a driving journey, I can finally say that I have passed my test, and it really is about blooming time too! Cheeky 'I've just passed my driving test' selfie with my lil' bro... Don't ask about the 'Despicable Me' keyrings... In fact, I tell a slight porky... I actually passed my driving test at the end of April... but driving around in lil' Pepper (mine and my sister's Peugeot 107) really has made me realise that it's when you've passed your test that you REALLY learn how to drive, therefore I thought I'd share my experiences with you all, Since being insured, I've had a couple of small bumps in the car which have scared t
